Miniature Christmas Holiday Handmade Nativity Set
This Nativity set scene consists of Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus.
Figures size: 2.5 cm. height x 1.5 width
Base size: 4 cm. x 3.5 cm.
Baby Jesus size: 1.5 cm.
This Nativity Set is totally handmade in tagua.
Tagua “vegetable ivory” is a white nut that grows in Colombia. The palm grows in the wild at lower elevations across Colombia, so there is no need to start tagua plantations. Locals collect fruit from the forest floor year-round after it falls from the tree, and the seeds are then extracted and dried.
Each piece is handmade completed. The artisans slice the nuts, tint them in simmering pots of colorful dye and assemble the pieces into different shapes, color and sizes. We have a great variety of nativity sets made in Colombia by local artisans.
Due to the nature and size of the tagua nuts, all sizes, shapes and colors are approximate…not exact.
The Nativity set is handmade in tagua contains small parts, therefore this is intended and suitable for 3 years+ old.
